One of my favorite creations, a cocktail that blends my love for all things agave based, the farm to table style of craft bartending honed in the Carolinas and my heritage hailing from the Southwest. This cocktail has a balance of sweet, savory and citrus notes packed with a bit of heat that lingers on the end. An homage to the place that birthed me and the placed that raised me (cocktail-wise)... I give you, "The South By Southwest"
2 oz. Reposado Tequila (Casamigos, Don Julio or Coralejo)
5 Fresh Bluberries
3 Basil Leaves
.75 oz Lime Juice
.75 oz agave necter
2 dashes Bittermens Hopped Grapefruit Bitters
3-5 Dashes Bittermens Habanero Hellfire Shrub (depending on desired level of heat)
Garnished with Blueberry Basil "boat"
